Our family estate spans 1,800 acres at the base of Mount St. Helena in Knights Valley, Sonoma County. The Bavarian Lion legacy began in 1976 when Werner Ehret established the brand after moving to the estate and introducing Bavarian Simmental cattle to the United States.


In 1996, his son Pierre Ehret expanded the vision by planting premium Bordeaux varietals and supplying grapes to some of Napa and Sonoma’s most prestigious wineries. In 2005, we began reserving our highest quality fruit for our family brand, Ehret. Our highly acclaimed winemaker, Erin Green, crafts our wines to express the depth, structure, and nuance of Knights Valley.
