The 2010 growing season was one noted mostly for moderation. It was long and mild in temperature during spring and summer. A heat wave in August accelerated the ripening of the grapes, and harvest was only slightly later than normal, though yields were lower. The result in our 2010 Syrah, Knights Valley, manifests with dark, ripe, sweet cherry, blackberry, juicy dark plum, mocha, and a hint of black olive impressions in the aroma and flavors. Enjoy it now, and know it will also be stunning over the next 5-7 years.
